Alitha E. Martinez is one of the few artists who have illustrated major superheroes for both DC and Marvel, including Iron Man and Batgirl, and was chosen to modernize icons like Wonder Woman. She illustrated most of the first five issues of World of Wakanda, a Black Panther spin-off, and worked on five issues of Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur — both Marvel titles.

In our documentary, Martinez discusses working in the comic book industry as a Black woman, including the marginalization and barriers she has faced in this underrepresented field. Through her work and advocacy, she has emphasized the importance of diversity and inclusion among comic book creators.
